Europe-wide open design contest leading to the award of a service contract in compliance with EU Directive 92/50/EEC on the coordination of procedures for the award of public service contracts and subsequent amendments.

Participants of the competition had the task to develop a feasible design (preliminary design) for the construction of the building that will house the Museum of Modern Art of Bozen. It will be located on the former property of the Monopol. The area concerned by the contest extends for 3.674 m². The overall volume of the construction was expected to be approximately 37.800 m³ (including underground spaces).
